A proper description of the condition of a book is taken seriously. Books may be returned for almost any reason within 10 days of receipt. Books must be returned properly packaged for mailing and in the same condition and terms of mailing as sent. Notification of a return is required in advance of a client actually returning an item. If a new, used, out of print or rare book is not in stock, the store will search the world over to fulfill your request. Building collections is also a service.


To keep shipping costs as low as possible we calculate postage at the time your order is shipped. There are no handling charges. If an order requires special handling or additional charges we will notify you by e-mail or telephone before your order is processed. If you have any special shipping requirements please do not hesitate to call or include in special instructions on shipping on cart page.

All items are subject to prior sale. Prepayment required for all orders unless other arrangements have been made. Institutions can be invoiced to meet their needs.

California residents add 8.5 % sales tax.

Domestic orders are shipped via U.S. Postal service/ Fed Ex and UPS can be arranged if so requested. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 lbs or 1 Kg.  Standard media mail ( 5-14 business days ) costs $5. Priority mail ( 3-5 business days) costs $7.50. If the package qualifies for first class rates and is less expensive than priority mail then this option will be used.

International orders are shipped Air Mail at cost by the U.S. Postal Service, either First Class Air or Global Priority Mail. International Surface mail service is no longer offered by the U.S. Postal Service. Flat rate mailers will be used whenever feasible.
